Subject Matter Expert (SME)
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide critical support in information technology infrastructure and human capital management. This role is essential for ensuring the alignment of strategic IM/IT workforce planning with the DHA’s long-term goals and operational needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting technology-refresh initiatives, tracking equipment, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems. Additionally, the SME will collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive the execution of strategic plans, provide guidance on workforce development, and help improve business processes. As part of a dynamic and high-performing team, you will contribute to the DHA's mission of enhancing medical readiness and operational efficiency, while playing a key role in developing systems that support both tactical and strategic goals for the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide information technology infrastructure support to include tasks such as technology-refresh, laptop and equipment tracking, telecommunications and equipment troubleshooting. Serve as SDD onsite systems administrator and network administrator. Coordinate and track annual equipment audits. Examine the current force structure, define gaps in education, training, experience; assist with defining long-term plan of action and supporting the execution of a sustainable human capital plan. Gather, investigate research, analyze, and act on information affecting intradepartmental or interdepartmental operations. Participate with executive leadership in institutional planning, policy development and problem resolution. Ensure strategic alignment with PMO and RMED and SDD wide issues. Collaborate with and act as a confidential sounding board to executive leadership in developing strategies and systems to improve the quality, efficiency, and responsiveness of a broad range of services and operations. Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to the SDD's strategic directions and plans, and relevant state-of-the-art systems and technology.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Familiarity of the DoD and the Defense Health Agency is highly desired. Provide guidance on strategic IM/IT workforce planning and human capital management. Proficiency with business process development and improvement. 3-5 years’ experience in strategic planning. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Ability to handle efficiently and effectively multiple and shifting priorities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in any related field.

applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
