Senior System Administrator

Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Senior System Administrator:

Oversee and manage system infrastructure, ensuring timely upgrades and minimal downtime for 40+ critical applications. Lead and support data center migration efforts, including server imaging and relocation tasks. Administer and optimize web servers, with a focus on

IIS

administration to ensure high performance and security. Utilize

ServiceNow

ticketing system to track, manage, and resolve support requests across multiple tiers (I/II/III). Provide advanced

MySQL server administration , including backups, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Offer mentorship and guidance to junior team members to build their technical skills and improve overall team efficiency. Ensure the successful execution of infrastructure and application updates while minimizing disruption. Support a variety of IT projects, including

VMware

management and

data center

infrastructure updates. Required Skills for Senior System Administrator:

Extensive experience in

system administration

and managing critical infrastructure. Strong experience in

data center management , including server imaging and relocation. Proficiency in

IIS web server administration , including configuration and optimization. Advanced skills in

VMware

and virtual infrastructure management. In-depth knowledge of

MySQL server administration , including performance tuning and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with

ServiceNow

for ticketing and issue resolution. Ability to provide helpdesk support at

Tier I/II/III

levels and handle escalated issues. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring minimal downtime and system disruptions. Preferred Skills:

Previous experience working in

government ,

public service , or
