Position Summary
The Financial Reporting Manager will contribute to the Company's financial reporting obligations by assisting in the preparation of financial reports for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), bank regulatory agencies, company investors, the Board of Directors, senior management and others; including SEC Forms 10-K and 10-Q, Proxy, earnings releases, quarterly Call and FRY reports, board reports, and others.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of 10-Qs & the 10-K, including financial statements and footnotes as well financial information presented throughout the filings. Coordinate and validate data provided by other departments.
Assess financial disclosures for compliance with internal/external reporting standards and requirements.
Support the quarterly earnings release process, including preparation of earnings release schedules and earnings call support.
Assist in monthly financial close process.
Assist in preparation and analysis of schedules for board, regulatory, and senior management reporting.
Assist with management of our external audit relationship.
Assist with lease and stock based compensation accounting.
Assist in continuously improving procedures and workpapers to support financial reports.
Respond to ad-hoc requests for information.
Special projects and other responsibilities as new accounting and business requirements arise.
Experience & Education
The successful candidate will possess advanced accounting and reporting skills related to the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Requires a high level attention to detail, a working knowledge of US GAAP, consolidation and reporting processes, and strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following:
A bachelor's degree in accounting is required. Related experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
5+ years of relevant experience, in a fast-paced organization, with previous accounting experience.
Experience with SEC and regulatory reporting in the financial services industry, preferred
Experience with and strong understanding of internal controls
Skills & Abilities Required
Proven interpersonal and relational skills; ability to work well in a small, collaborative team, as well as communicating and interacting with a larger group, including executive management.
Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
Intermediate skills in Excel; proficient in Word, PowerPoint.
Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Must be able to receive and follow instructions given by management, develop solutions to unique problems, and handle all data with security, caution, and care.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here maybe encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
Ability to work in a confined area.
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Occasional stooping or kneeling may be necessary.
