Job Summary :
The Electrical Design Engineer will collaborate with various departments, including sales, project management, procurement, production, and quality assurance, to develop electrical designs for critical power systems.
Job Duties:
- Develop electrical designs for critical power systems, ranging from standard to complex configurations.
- Meet with stakeholders to establish requirements for new or existing products or electrical systems.
- Work closely with a team of engineers and CAD designers on engineering projects.
- Create user-friendly operation and maintenance manuals.
- Validate testing using manual procedures, testing tools, and database queries.
- Maintain cross-functional relationships with design engineers, quality teams, and production teams.
- Work with the quality team to assess quality metrics and analyze product design and production times.
- Promote a culture of electrical safety within the department and company.
- Create prototypes, conduct testing, and analyze results.
- Provide support throughout the manufacturing process to ensure design specifications are met.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues that arise during manufacturing and recommend solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 8 to 14 years of electrical design experience, preferably in critical power distribution and switchgear.
- Knowledge of UL 891 Switchboards, UL 1558 Metal-Enclosed Low-Voltage Power Circuit Breaker Switchgear, UL 67 Panelboards, UL 857 Busway, UL 1008 Transfer Switch Equipment, and UL 62368/60950 Information Technology Equipment is preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems based on engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and MS Office applications.
