CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT. ASAP START- SEPTEMBER 2025
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support capital projects in the Houston and West Texas areas. This is a temporary backfill for an FTE on extended leave, requiring extensive expertise in legacy PLC and HMI platforms, process control systems, and automation programming. The ideal candidate will work independently, collaborate with stakeholders, and implement new control templates.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Implement and optimize process control and automation systems in processing plants.
✔️ Develop and configure PLC and HMI platforms using function block and ladder logic programming.
✔️ Interpret and develop process, electrical, and instrumentation drawings, Cause and Effect diagrams, and control narratives.
✔️ Apply industry standards for documentation, regulatory control, loop tuning, and safety systems.
✔️ Work on Allen Bradley PLCs (preferred) and other platforms such as Honeywell Experion DCS and Triconex Safety Systems (a plus).
✔️ Manage tasks independently and oversee contractor support when needed.
✔️ Travel up to 50% domestically and be on-call as required.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering or 10+ years of controls-related experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience in process control implementation within processing plants.
Strong expertise in PLC programming, configuration, and safety system integration.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with operations and contractors.
