Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek an Electrical Engineer to work on an initial 6-month contract in Houston, TX with benefits.

Function Description

The Electrical Engineer is integrated into EHT Package team, and reports to the Project Engineering Manager. The Electrical Engineer shall ensure that the solution engineered and fabricated by the Subcontractor is fit for purpose electrical wise.

In particular, the Electrical Engineer shall:

• Ensure that the solution engineered and fabricated by the Subcontractor is compliant with the requirements from the regulatory authorities and from the Client

• Participate to meetings with the Subcontractor (regular follow-up meetings and dedicated technical meetings) and perform visits to the Subcontractor’s premises when necessary

• Review the Subcontractor’s documentation related to the electrical scope, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • General Arrangement Drawings
  • Interconnection Block Diagrams / Wiring Diagrams
  • Control and Safety System Description, Functional Analysis
  • Electrical Design Calculation Note
  • All electrical and instruments datasheets: electrical cables, sensors, junction boxes, control panels, transformers, switchgears
  • Electrical Load List, Instrument and I/O List, Spare Parts List
  • Manufacturing Inspection Test Plan
  • Procedures: FAT & Testing, packing, handling and transportation, storage, preservation, installation, operating, startup and maintenance

Job Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer

• Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects

• Experience as a Package Engineer (follow-up of subcontractors)

• Good knowledge of EHT systems

• Knowledge of STS technology is a plus

• Experience in design and manufacturing of LV transformers

• Experience in design and manufacturing of power and control panels

• Knowledge of electrical installation and commissioning activities

• Good knowledge of US norms, codes and standards (including NFPA 70) is required

• Good organizational and communication skills, good interpersonal abilities

• Good attention to detail

• Proficiency in English required

• Proficiency in French is a plus
