Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and deposition summaries.
  • Assist with filing court documents, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documents are filed and maintained accurately.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Maintain and update case management systems and databases.
  • Prepare trial binders and other materials needed for court appearances.
  • Assist attorneys with legal research and drafting correspondence.
  • Monitor case deadlines and ensure the timely filing of all necessary documents.
  • Perform general office tasks such as managing incoming calls, emails, and office supplies.
  • Coordinate with experts, witnesses, and other outside professionals as needed.
  • Prepare billing entries for timekeeping and client invoicing.
  • Assist in the preparation of settlement documents and case resolutions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or administrative assistant in a law firm or legal department setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and litigation processes.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of case management software and electronic filing systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
