Due to the nature of the position supporting a federal or government contract, candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible to work on a W2 basis. Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on circuit board design, layout, and testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF systems, photovoltaics, and microcircuitry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test circuit boards for optical instruments. Develop and refine circuitry, layout, and schematics using tools such as KiCad, Eagle CAD, and Gerber files. Conduct troubleshooting and optimization of electrical systems to meet mission requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers, to integrate electronics into system-level designs. Ensure designs are efficient, scalable, and optimized for space applications and rapid development cycles. Work on RF (radio frequency) technologies to support optical instrumentation. Apply expertise in photovoltaic systems and power electronics to support energy-efficient solutions. Participate in the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept through production. Balance design for manufacturability with performance and reliability in extreme environments. Required Qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, specializing in microcircuitry and circuit board design. Proficiency with KiCad, Eagle CAD, and Gerber file generation. Hands-on experience in RF system design and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of photovoltaic arrays, CMOS sensors, and Focal Plane Arrays (FPAs). Experience working in aerospace, space, or commercial manufacturing environments. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, test, and refine electrical designs in a fast-paced environment. Experience with designing circuit boards for embedded systems or controlling mechanisms. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and collaboration skills. Must be adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving, iterative development environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with satellite or space-based electronics. Familiarity with high-reliability design for extreme environments. Understanding of power distribution and regulation in space applications. Prior experience working on new space initiatives and commercial spaceflight projects. Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent hands-on experience. Advanced degrees are welcome but not required. Certifications in RF, PCB design, or power electronics are a plus but not mandatory. Seniority level
