Senior Salesforce Developer
provides hands-on support to our internal business units spanning Higher Education, Schools, Professional, International and Customer Experience. The team environment is extremely innovative, intellectually challenging and very dynamic. Research, troubleshooting, analytical, technical and soft skills are a must as is the ability to work collaboratively, in some cases, leading others and managing their work, or on your own, being highly motivated with a great work ethic to drive and succeed. You will bring a focus on quality and service delivery, with an eye for attention to detail.
This is a remote position based in Columbus, OH, open to applicants authorized to work in the U.S. Occasional travel to the office is required so priority will be given to candidates within commuting distance of the McGraw Hill office in Columbus. What can you expect from the position? Work on assigned tickets within agreed SLA adhering to defined development process - 45%
Requirements are clear and ticket outcome defined. Code follows best-practice, scalable and maintainable.
Create or update documentation to enhance/strengthen future development/support - 20%
Minimizes misunderstandings and mitigates defects. Knowledge sharing within the team, and a reference for subsequent development.
Build/execute thorough test plans ensuring development meets requirements - 15%
Test plans to consider positive and negative scenarios. Understand the end-to-end transaction, upstream and downstream impacts.
Communicate to technical and business stakeholders - 10%
Clear on purpose, concise and factual. Appropriate modes of communication e.g. use of Teams, Email or Meetings. Manage meetings with business/stakeholders to clarify requirements in business terms.
Enhance and develop the team's skills - 10%
Plan and manage delivery of initiatives as needed. Coach and mentor more junior members of the team to help them to enhance their skills - both technical and non-technical. Enhance the team culture by helping to push improvements in both team and individual performance.
What can you bring to the role? 6+ years of experience as a Salesforce developer. Salesforce Certified Platform Developer 1 and/or Platform II highly preferred. Strong experience with Salesforce development with a focus on experience with Lightning Web Component (LWC) development, including SOQL, Apex, Salesforce Lightning Components, Platform Events, JavaScript, plus other Salesforce development and integration technologies. Experience with Salesforce configuration including Security, Data Model, User Management, Process Builder, Lightning Flow Builder, and other configuration tools. Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Sales Cloud. Proven experience in defining, planning and delivering initiatives/small projects, such as integrating third-party applications with Salesforce. Experience creating business process documentation e.g. ERD's, data flow or UML diagrams Code management using Git or equivalent. Working knowledge of the Agile methodology. Mentoring and developing skills of more junior team members (technical and non-technical). Change Control including implementation and rollback plans preferred.
