QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Ability to read, write and understand instructions.

Trade school/apprenticeship program.

3+ years practical trade related experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Construct, repair and finish woodwork and equipment working from blue prints drawings and verbal instructions to maintain hospital physical plan on set in accordance with hospital and department policies. Install and repair ceilings, metal structure walls and sheetrock. Repair floors, i.e. carpet, VCT tiles. Install ceramic tiles on floors and walls. Provide work on doors and door frames, i.e. installation and repair. Requires diverse use of all shop and machine related tools and equipment and all crafts and hand tools.

COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Problem solving. Task allows for the application of previously acquired knowledge. Task requires flexibility of thought, reasoning, organizational skills and the ability to act in some new or unfamiliar situations. Selective attention and concentration are necessary to complete task.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Build, repair, install counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, frame work as applicable to carpenter trade.

Cuts and installs mirrors and glass.

Repairs and replaces tile ceilings, floor tile, sheet goods, vinyl on walls.

Installs shades, blinds, rods as applicable.

Performs any other related tasks, activities and responsibilities as assigned or requested for the purpose of completing department projects and maintenance duties within established time frames and in a safe efficient manner.

Fills out properly all necessary logs noteworthy and completes necessary paperwork on a daily basis.

Perform carpentry inservice.

Attend and comprehend inservices.

Keeps supervisor informed as per need for tools and supplies to avoid interruption in service.
