Job Opportunity: Pharmacy Technician Inpatient
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our inpatient team. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with day and evening shifts. The start dates available are April 7th and April 21st.
Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. First-time applicants will not be considered. Local candidates preferred within a specific mileage radius. Weekend availability is required, working every other weekend. Certifications:
Required: BLS, CPhT - Advanced, State License Preferred: Chemo/Hazardous Drug Certification, IV Certification Skills:
Required: Inpatient/Acute care, Aseptic Technique, Compounding Sterile and Non-Sterile Products Preferred:
Preparation of IV mixtures Controlled substance documentation High alert/risk medication management Familiarity with look-alike/sound-alike drugs Retail Pharmacy experience Handling and disposal of hazardous materials Labeling requirements Preparation of chemotherapy Prevention and reporting of medication errors Sterilization of laminar or horizontal flow hoods
Medication System:
Experience with Pyxis medication system Pharmacy Inventory Management:
Problem resolution with automation systems Automation stocking and usage Ordering and receiving processes (maintaining par levels, rotating stock) Handling recalls, returns, outdates, and reverse distribution Understanding storage requirements
Scrubs are not provided, and employees may wear any color of choice. Please note that all employees are required to have a flu vaccine.
