WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our adult-based outpatient team. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in adult patients. This role involves working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, and other medical conditions affecting speech and language abilities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Evaluation & Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals. Administer standardized tests and interpret results to guide clinical decision-making.
Treatment & Intervention:
Provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, fluency, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders. Implement compensatory strategies for patients with neurogenic communication disorders. Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices as needed. Educate patients and caregivers on strategies for improving communication and swallowing safety.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with multidisciplinary team. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and insurance guidelines.
Patient & Caregiver Education:
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about treatment plans, home exercises, and strategies to maximize communication and swallowing function.
Compliance:
Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology. Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing board. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Missouri licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as an SLP. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Experience in adult outpatient or medical settings is preferred but not required. Strong understanding of neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting. May require lifting patients or equipment up to 25 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, and use of therapy tools/technology.
