Job Summary
The Hospital Assistant II provides essential support to technologists and the Radiology department. This role is an integral part of the imaging team.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties: Identify patients using proper identification procedures. Assist patients with transportation, dressing, and preparation for exams. Stock and order necessary supplies for the assigned areas. Ensure safe transport of patients, including IVs or medical equipment. Assist technologists in positioning patients onto the imaging table. Practice proper body mechanics for patient and personal safety. Policy Adherence:
Follow UCSF hospital and department policies and procedures. Maintain infection control and safety compliance. Uphold high standards of professionalism, including proper dress code and ID badge use. Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and physicians. Information Management:
Demonstrate competency in using Radiology Information Systems and APeX. Ensure accurate clinical data entry for requested procedures. Assist with patient check-ins and data entry when needed. Leadership & Supervision:
Provide leadership in the absence of a supervisor. Work independently with minimal supervision. Professional Development: Attend required staff development training. Participate in cross-training opportunities. Identify additional duties that need to be performed beyond assigned tasks. Performance Improvement:
Engage in department and hospital performance improvement projects. Complete mandatory hospital training and in-service programs. Budget & Resource Management:
Use time and supplies effectively to minimize costs. Monitor department productivity and identify areas for cost savings. Other Responsibilities:
Assist other departments when needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
