This is accomplished by providing customer service and support and maintaining records and databases. This position provides increased responsibility for duties such as maintaining all necessary databases and paperwork for the City of Allen Municipal Court, creating warrants, scheduling court dates, controlling court dockets, processing court appearance bonds, and coordinating other activities as needed. This position will be cross-trained to perform the duties of Bond Clerk, Warrant Clerk, and Docket Clerk in order to rotate positions as necessary. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
Essential Functions

Provide departmental support for various areas by assisting with customer service, entering data, providing computer support, resolving problems, and attending municipal court sessions to process paperwork as required. Assist the public by retrieving information and files, providing general information regarding the scheduling of court activities, defensive driving, warrants and processing extensions; assists the public in problem solving and research activities. Assist with the processing, posting, balancing, reconciliation, and deposit of various payments for court services and citations. Provide staff assistance to the Court Administrator/Court Supervisor; prepare periodic reports of municipal court activities; prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate. Maintain working knowledge and understanding of state laws, local laws/regulations and legal opinions basic to municipal court operations (i.e., Texas Traffic Laws, Texas Criminal Laws, Texas Alcohol Beverage Code, City Ordinance, and Attorney General Opinions). Perform various administrative tasks requiring interaction and coordination with departmental staff, Judge, Prosecutor offices and other City departments such as Finance, Police, Fire, Public Works, Animal Control, Environmental Services and other related agencies. Perform related duties as required and all other duties as assigned.
Additional essential functions as it relates to the respective area or work Warrants
Create Capias, Capias Pro Fines, Bench Warrants, Failures to Appear and Violations of Promises to Appear, for Judge's signature. Maintain warrant database and filing system. Prepare and mail warrant courtesy notices and other correspondence. Steer activities associated with warrant lists for the Allen Police Department, and the Texas Warrant Roundup. Dockets
Schedule cases, summon defendants and witnesses, and prepare case files for court hearings, create and maintain database and filing system for Junked Vehicle cases, Property Hearings, Vehicle Impound Inventories, Animal Seizures, Administrative Warrants, and Emergency Protective Orders. Prepare and mail Show Cause Hearing notices and Past Due Violation notices. Schedule cases for Trials by a Judge and Jury Trials including summoning juries and preparing trial documents. Prepare and submit appeals and transcripts to the Collin County District Clerk's Office. Attend municipal court sessions to process paperwork as required. Bonds
Process court appearance bonds, jail cash and surety bonds, time served orders, community service orders, and indigency orders. Successfully navigate cases through the Bond Forfeiture process up to and including Judgment Nisi stage. Job Requirements
Education & Experience Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency plus two (2) years of relevant experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Valid Texas Class C Driver's License Level I Court Clerk Certification or the ability to achieve within one (1) year of the hire date Overall Physical Strength Demands Light - Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
