Summary of Position(s): These Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Specialists preferred to serve as the subject matter expert in general health related areas in the educational school setting. LPN's working for Faribault Public Schools provide care to students with health needs, refer students to outside providers and assist with screenings and prevention of communicable diseases. The positions commence immediately upon hire. LPN's are employed full-time for 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week between late August and early June; serving multiple health offices within Faribault Public Schools. Additional summer opportunities are available.
Qualifications: Nurse/LPN positions will provide on-site hands on management of routine and emergency health concerns as they arise at multiple health offices District Wide according to district policy and guidelines and state law. Daily distribution of student's medications, maintenance of student health records and to provide on-going communication with parents, teachers, specialists, principals, and the health service coordinator. Ability to collect and report data as directed by the case manager. Must be well-organized and willing to work as a team; and be comfortable with using the computer. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Licensure:
LPN with CPR and First Aid Training strongly preferred, will consider other medical certifications.
