Account Manager - Engineering
position. This role is responsible for the management of an account or assigned accounts, and the supervision assigned to each account. They operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to their assigned accounts. They build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships and oversee customer account management, including visiting accounts periodically, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and negotiating contracts and agreements. We are looking for a candidate with supervisory experience, experience operating/monitoring HVAC equipment, operating/monitoring emergency building systems, experience leading teams, working with customers and operating/monitoring emergency building systems. Schedule: Must have a flexible schedule & available to work nights and weekends as needed. Salary range: $70k-$80k Duties: Manages the overall activities of an account’s site and/or project(s) including the supervision which may be the chief building engineer, assistant building engineer, site manager, technicians, and/or on-site HBM resources. Maintains and monitors work schedules of all personnel, including the preparation and timely submission of weekly payroll time sheets. Manages materials inventory as well as general use of equipment. Conducts site visits, evaluations, and audits under defined time periods per the account. Coordinates and controls special project work by ensuring timely completion, invoicing, and payment. Assists with mechanical troubleshooting on properties, if necessary. Assists chiefs/supervisors with large scale projects (i.e. building water shut offs, etc.). Answers client queries and identifies new business opportunities among existing customers. Conducts and participates in ongoing management and technical skill development training programs. Conducts orientation of employees, develops employees’ skills/abilities and performs annual employee evaluations. Writes and issues discipline, following HR concurrence, to notify and correct employee behaviors and performance. Develops strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. Prepares, edits, and approves reports on account status for customers and/or HBM management under defined time periods per the account. Develops new business with existing clients and/or identifies areas of improvement to improve service quality and sales growth. Assists with budget planning and suggesting cost-saving initiatives. Performs other duties as requested by HBM and customer management. Position may require occasional travel. Must attend mandatory training. Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate. College BA/BS degree in engineering, business, or equivalent work experience preferred. Must have good public relations and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels. Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail. Must be in good physical condition to bend, squat, reach, kneel, climb, walk etc. as needed for specific projects. Previous management/supervisory and engineering/maintenance experience preferred. Proficient in computer hardware usage and software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email. Must maintain a valid Hawaii driver license for use of company vehicle.
