District: Rossville Consolidated School District General Description of Position Duties: The primary purpose of the SLP position is to identify and serve students with Communication Disorders/Disabilities that adversely affect their educational performance.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Plan and implement appropriate treatment plans and methodologies using evidence-based practices. Assist in the development of an IEP and attend Case Conferences as Teacher of Record or Teacher of Service. Complete all referrals for Speech and Language Therapy following local referral requirements. Comply with Federal and State timelines and comply with other requirements established by the Indiana Rules on Special Education ("Article 7"). Progress monitor data to show growth based on goals or support adjustment of services to address continued student needs. A variety of service delivery models, including general education and special education settings, are used to support students in addressing their needs. As necessary, provide in-service training to staff and parents to convey information. Develop educational materials based on building and student needs. Be knowledgeable in the use of AAC devices, resources, and other alternative modes of communication. Complete required Medicaid service entries on the SLP caseload. Provide child find obligations of speech/language evaluations, hearing screenings, and participate in Multidisciplinary Team meetings. If applicable, supervise the SLPA in providing services with fidelity.
