The Center for Acoustics Research & Education (CARE) seeks a research data manager to establish and maintain a data and IT infrastructure to ensure research data is discoverable, accessible, and secure. The Data Manager will aid the research team in developing Data Management Plans and Proposals for future projects as well as manage data/metadata standards, governance, provenance, privacy and security throughout the data life-cycle of current programs.

In concert with the UNH Research Computing Center, the CARE data manager must:

1) classify and then establish a regulated data compliant ecosystem

2) maintain an established set of best-practice business processes, operational standards and procedures, and qualitative and quantitative metrics to ensure effective support to students, faculty, staff, and researchers

3) work directly with staff at the National Centers for Ecological Information (NCEI) to schedule data drive transfers from UNH to NCEI that adhere to the ISO 19-115 requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities

To be the point of contact between CARE research project teams and UNH RCC for tasks related to data archiving, data access, and data sharing within the research team. (25%) To be the point of contact between CARE research project teams and UNH RCC for tasks related to data archiving, data access, and data sharing within the public. (25%) To maintain project websites that enable public access to project data. (25%) Attend all project meetings for funded projects with data management needs (25%) Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

Four-year college degree. Experience with administration, coordination, and security of data from multiple federally-funded research projects/programs. Must be U.S. Citizen Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated record experience in implementing standards and procedures to ensure effective support to students, faculty, staff, and researchers Experience with creating and maintaining website structure and content Experience with Workday, SharePoint, Globus, and WinSCP Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in establishing and tracking contracts and awarded subcontracts. Understanding of data server access and permissions. Understanding of Office of Naval Research product deliverables.
