Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Human Resources Generalist (Focus: HRIS/Benefits) (Pearland, Texas ? In office)

We are seeking a driven, energetic Human Resources (HR) Generalist to report to the Human Resources Manager. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: information system data integrity and maintenance, benefit administration, HR reporting, and a broad range of HR coordination to include performance management, onboarding, new hire orientation, preparing and coordinating training programs and material, and other HR duties as assigned. The HR Generalist also has knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, processes, and resources as it relates to Human Resources.

The person in this role must be Customer Service focused, possess excellent motivating communication skills with employees and vendors, be organized, and have system technical expertise preferred with UKG Ready, while upholding confidentiality.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

HR Administration

  • Understands employment law and benefit compliance, compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations;
  • Answers employee questions regarding benefits, policies, and procedures;
  • Reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing employee documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies and procedures;
  • Processes initial unemployment responses and represents the company in unemployment hearings;
  • Maintains the integrity of employee data in HRIS;
  • Coordinates training programs and ensures notifications are working in the Learning Management System (LMS);
  • Assists in the coordination of performance management, answers questions, and ensures managers and employees complete the performance process;
  • Composes draft of written correspondence, sets up announcements to employees in HRIS;
  • Participates in HR objectives, system changes, management reporting metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements;
  • Coordinates administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews;
  • Prepares for a smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience;
  • Be the backup for timesheet processing;
  • Coordinates employee events with a team.

Benefits Administration

  • Assists with the setup of open enrollment changes in the HRIS and the coordination of communication to employees;
  • Communicates with service providers concerning employee benefit matters or questions;
  • Maintains the storage of employee benefit records, ensures accurate employee benefit data entry in the HRIS system and appropriate administration of benefits, retirement plans, and other transactions;
  • Ensures benefit deductions in payroll are accurate;
  • Coordinates employee benefits meetings;
  • Advises employees and managers regarding benefits and leave programs with established policies and procedures;
  • Coordinates and gathers information for the 401k audit.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred or SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus;
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on Human Resources administration; experience must include Benefits Administration and at least two other human resource disciplines including, but not limited to recruiting, employee relations, HR information system, employee development, payroll, policy compliance, and performance management;
  • UKG Ready experience preferred or related HRIS systems;
  • Familiarity with carrier administration systems (i.e. BCBS, Principal, ThrivePass, Nationwide) and ability to trace issues between the carriers system and the Benefit Administration system.
