Provide clerical support for the efficient and effective operation of the school administrative offices. Assist where appropriate.
Assist Principal
Assist in the maintenance of scheduled appointments, conferences, and interviews for administrator
Prepare and distribute miscellaneous statistical, budgetary, discipline, enrollment, absence reports and correspondence without supervision
Act as liaison for the District, community, staff, students, and parents with tact and diplomacy
Process requisitions and close purchase orders
Add events to school calendar
Final Forms (monitor and assist parents)
Create class schedules
Place students in classrooms at the beginning of the year
Coordinate subs for teachers on long term absence/maternity leave
School deposits (fee, fundraisers, donations)
Maintain miscellaneous records
Order teacher, student and building supplies
Receive various payments, fees, etc. and deposit monies
Receive and deliver building materials
Maintain confidentiality of information, including, but not limited to, student records and free/reduced lunch forms.
Utilize emergency procedure knowledge and notify appropriate persons
Contact parents when necessary
Oversee discipline of students when necessary
Is punctual and prepared for immediate assumption of duties upon arrival at school
Utilize time appropriately and maintain good attendance
Proactively address potential problem areas to insure timely completion of tasks
Create or assist in the development of procedures
Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, parents and community members
Stay current with Board guidelines and policies
Follow the District safety and regulatory compliance policy, procedures and guidelines
Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to generate correspondence independently
Ability to operate all applicable office equipment
Ability to work effectively with others
Effective communication skills
Excellent computer/keyboarding skills
Organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize to assure completion of task
In the absence of the school nurse, dispense prescription medication, apply band-aids, and give first aid
Perform other duties as assigned by building principal
SALARY: $18.38/hour--$22.75/hour, based on applicable experience
HOURS: 8hours/day, Monday--Friday, 10 months/year

Applicants should have completed the twelfth grade with considerable paid secretarial experience. Applicants must have the ability to type accurately from clear copy and have considerable knowledge of computers. All internal applicants meeting the Board and Union requirements will be offered an interview.
