This is an 8 hour per day, 260 day per year Security Systems Analyst position with benefits at the District Support Services Center. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

Hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinates cross-departmental efforts to ensure initial implementation of districtwide facility security systems funded through voter-approved capital bonds. Supports the assigned Project Manager by providing technical knowledge of involved systems and district established technology standards to ensure the reliable operation of building security access controls and other related systems. Collaborates with Capital Projects, Safety & Security, Facilities, Technology Services and contracted vendors to support design and implementation of technology systems, for reconfigurations, remodels, new construction, and ongoing operations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Participates in team planning activities with Capital Improvements Project Manager, design professionals, vendors, contractors and district staff. Supports development of systems requirements documents and RFP/RFQ process for building systems related to safety & security and facilities operation. Coordinates with Capital Improvements Project Manager and vendors to investigate, analyze, cost-out and make recommendations for modification proposals and change orders for assigned projects. Liaisons with Technology, Capital Projects, and Facilities in the design and implementation of building automated technology systems, for reconfigurations, remodels and new construction. Provides information to, and works with, outside consulting and construction firms hired by the district. Interprets plans and specifications to maintain, repair, install and assess systems building-wide. Assist school district staff in the acquisition of the necessary permits and certifications from appropriate approval agencies. Secure permits for projects managed in-house. Performs technical support activities involving the integration of installation, configuration, testing, training and maintenance of software related to physical security including, but not limited to, electronic access control, video surveillance, and networked systems to protect against loss or damage. Serves as technical resource for district staff regarding system interfaces and user guides for security systems & applications. Trains end-users and supports staff on the use and features of the security system applications. Troubleshoots and monitors access controls, security cameras, and related components to ensure functionality. Assists in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training plans for appropriate use of systems. After initial installs, works with Safety & Security, Facilities, and Technology Services to determine video camera and access control locations and positioning of additional devices. Schedules installations with maintenance staff and outside contractors, notifies school administrators, provides building access, and follows up until projects are complete. Analyzes technological advances with existing products and emerging technologies to meet ever changing needs as well as adhere to new district requirements, policies and procedures. Researches continuous updates of regulatory changes, physical security requirements, and industry best practices. Sets, maintains and monitors facility access control schedules to support school and facility use needs. Supports integration of schedules with access control, intrusion alarms, and other systems. Support initial and ongoing access card process Provides superior customer service to both internal and external customers. Completes various special projects as assigned; schedules project tasks and works with internal and external customers to ensure completion of tasks. Provides various support to the Capital Projects and Facilities departments for the purpose of increasing safety and security. Maintains current knowledge of trends in facility systems technology. Ability to implement and comply with Federal and State laws and Board Policy. Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours. Perform other related duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

Thorough knowledge and working experience with security applications including access controls, video surveillance and other related systems. Knowledge of current building automated security systems. Skills in troubleshooting techniques; ability to apply technical knowledge, interpersonal relationships, and logic to identify problems. Knowledge and abilities to export, import, and manipulate data through spreadsheets, etc. Knowledge of network security best practices. Written and verbal communication. Working as a member of a team with other technical and professional employees, contractors, and school staff. Operating a personal computer and various applications software programs. Coordinate and direct the work of outside contractors. Strong skills liaising with internal and external customers with experience conveying district/organization needs to outside contractors. Test proposed equipment and make recommendations. Troubleshoot new software programs. Exercise independent judgment within scope of responsibility. Independently establish daily work priorities and accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Previous knowledge and training in surveillance and security systems. Experience in K-12 educational environment or public sector is desirable. Ability to work in a fluid environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Ability to strengthen job-related competencies. EDUCATION:

AA degree in related field. Qualifying experience may substitute for the educational requirement. EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of job-related experience, including at least one year experience installing, programming, troubleshooting, and/or servicing security systems.
