JOB SUMMARY : Collaborate with school personnel and parents/guardians to design and implement assistive technology that will provide maximum interaction between students and their environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization. Collaborates with school personnel and parents to design and implement an augmentative communication system that will provide maximum interaction between students and their environment Daily 20% 2.
Maintains strong knowledge of content area, teaching methods, learning styles, evidence-based practice and research related to special education students of all levels and abilities. Daily 20% 3.
Works itinerantly throughout the school district and supports special education students and staff in a variety of school settings Daily 20% 4.
Participates on the multidisciplinary Assistive Technology Team and attend team meetings. Daily 10% 5.
Collaborates with school personnel and parents to develop appropriate progress monitoring and data collection tools based on individual student goals Daily 5% 6.
Provides orientation and training of technology to students, staff, and family when needed Weekly 10% 7.
Collaborates with school personnel and parents to develop long-range plans for individual student use of augmentative communication systems Weekly 5% 8.
Documents and maintains service delivery logs and submits paperwork for Medicaid billing Monthly 5% 9.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Daily 5%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired. Criminal background check and fingerprinting required Master's degree Three (3) years of professional work experience Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Service Provider license American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) licensure Colorado driver license PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS : The physical demands, mental functions, cognitive capacities, and work environment factors required to perform a position's essential functions.
