Position Summary:

Under the direction and guidance of the Vice President for University Advancement, the Director of Alumni Engagement executes the engagement strategy for Campbell University's 57,000 alumni. The Director of Alumni Engagement supports the strategic plans for alumni engagement supporting the Alumni Association's mission of promoting the best interests and increase the usefulness of Campbell University and to continue and create mutually beneficial relationships between the University and the members of the Association.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to foster the Legacy tradition at Campbell through various programs including communications and recognitions programs. Lead the Orange Owned program, aiming to grow the database of alumni-owned businesses, recognizing their accomplishments, and connecting them to additional alumni engagement and on-campus opportunities. Leads planning and implementation of alumni engagement strategic events by the Alumni Engagement Office including but not limited to Homecoming, Reunion, Golden Club Reunion, Class Reunions and Legacy Lunch. Provides thorough briefs to Advancement and Alumni Engagement staff and, when necessary, university administrators in advance of events. Supports the goals of the Alumni Board of Directors in collaboration with Alumni Engagement Office staff. Engages with regional alumni networks through collaborative promotion of events and programs hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement. Intentional travel is required for effective relationships management with alumni and key alumni volunteers. Supports the strategy of the Office and the Associate using CRM Analytics and engagement scoring. Collaborate and participate in stewardship efforts within University Advancement. Uphold and abide by all Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and Information Security, including FERPA and other state and federal guidelines. Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree required. 3-5 years of significant customer relations, volunteer management, higher education, or nonprofit organizations. Experience working with volunteer networks, volunteer boards, and budgets to achieve strategic goals. Event planning experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Time management and thoughtful prioritization to balance the magnitude of responsibilities. Self-motivated and self-starting taking ownership of program and event success. Goal oriented and a desire to grow the Alumni Association's programs. Strong attention to detail understanding their role is a reflection on the University, our Association, and our office team. Strong understanding of volunteer management including recruitment, retention, and recognition. Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences through both oral and written channels. Possess a high level of writing, editing and general communication skills and effective public relations practices, with knowledge of AP Style. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word, with familiarity with WordPress CMS, bulk email platform (Mailchimp for example). Familiarity with digital photography/editing is an asset. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, students, and the public. Effective decision-making capabilities. Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects, and still meet strict deadlines. Ability to organize, direct, prioritize, and delegate work appropriately. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to demonstrate tact, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials, and the public. Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people. Ability to exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
