You’ll work with subject matter experts to identify user acceptance testing requirements; coordinate user acceptance testing and collate results. Overall, you’ll serve as a point of contact for all assigned projects and advise on project scope, resource, and schedule constraints.

HOW A DATA GOVERNANCE PROJECT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Lead project management activities for data governance, data management and other related data projects within the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO)

Develop business cases, requirements definition, and project plans

Apply best practices and methods to translate business objectives into functional requirements

Work with subject matter experts to translate functional requirements into technical requirements

Coordinate and manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously

Advise on project scope, resource, and schedule constraints

Prepare and deliver regular briefings on project status and constraints

Participate in phase, milestone, and final project reviews and document results / action items

Work with subject matter experts to identify user acceptance testing requirements; coordinate user acceptance testing and collate results

Communicate project scope, resource, schedule, risks, etc. to program sponsors, business customers, and stakeholders

Serve as a point of contact for all assigned projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education

:

BA/BS in a technical field (Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field of study)

Required Experience

:

5+ years of specialized experience conducting project tracking/support management for data management, data governance or data analytics system development projects

2+ years of technical and/or project management experience in leading data governance, data management and other related data project

Certification or advanced studies in project management

Required Technical Skills

:

Plan, organize, and manage project activities

Manage multiple, simultaneous projects with shared resources and disparate timelines

Multi-task and effectively prioritize competing needs

Excellent time management skills

Ability to flexibly apply and adapt project management best practices to data governance, data management and other related data projects

Work independently in a cross-functional environment and coordinate project activities

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with senior-level management and customers

Experience leading business process and business re-engineering discussions, user acceptance testing, etc.

Knowledge of data governance models, data quality programs, and data management practices and policies

Technical knowledge of metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, etc.)

Technical knowledge of data analytics methods, data processing and the use of data- warehouses and business intelligence platforms

Technical knowledge of cloud computing and infrastructure

Ability to work closely with the Data Governance Steering Committee and data stewards from other OIG components to provide policy implementation and oversight of lifecycle data management initiatives

Desired Skills and Abilities:

MCSE certification

Microsoft Endpoint Management / Intune

Experience with Microsoft Applications to include the following: Autopilot, Defender Office 365 and licensing in an enterprise environment

Security Clearance Level

:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Hybrid, must be local to the DMV area for reporting to office once per week or twice in a 2-week pay period with primary location in Arlington, VA

The likely salary range for this position is $131,248 - $177,570. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
