Considered specialist in knowledge of hard goods (wares). Responsible for all duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including sorting wares, examining product for condition, and ensuring the best possible price is listed on each item.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Product Knowledge
- Processes hard goods (wares, electrical, furniture, books, shoes, accessories). This includes sorting based on store criteria, utilizing pricing guide, minimizing trash, and salvaging as applicable.
- Separates materials according to category (sales, salvage, seasonal goods).
- Identifies items that are priced by management, i.e. high value or unique items. As assigned by management, will price identified items.
- Identifies items that could be sold through ecommerce.
- Prices items accurately, balances maximizing price with providing a true value to the customer.
Time Management
- Maintains productivity as demonstrated by meeting minimum production numbers as established and communicated by management.
- Calculates and records number of pieces processed.
Communication
- Helps in donations or other areas as needed.
- Participates in special projects related to wares.
- Responsive and respectful towards others within the organization. Promotes internal and external customer service through effective communication. Displays appropriate behavior (courteous and respectful interactions) with fellow employees.
Other
- Follows established processes according to Kaizen standards.
- Consistently follows established safety rules. Reports safety accidents and hazards when known and in a timely manner. Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Utilizes the proper equipment and supplies in meeting the safety standards. Maintains workstation supplies. Completes work station 5 minute clean up daily.
- Demonstrates regard for Goodwill’s assets including property, and equipment.

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- A high school degree (or its equivalent) is desirable, though an equivalent amount of training and experience will be considered in lieu of this requirement.
- Knowledge of collectibles, antiques or specialized items strongly preferred.
- Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet use.
- Ability to count, add, and subtract.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to follow all safety rules.
- Must be able to operate a pricing gun and price merchandise appropriately.
Sensory and Physical Requirements:
Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all functions of the job. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds. Use of both hands. Good manual and finger dexterity. Ability to work in dusty, noisy conditions. Ability to visually inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations.
Compensation: $16.00 - $18.50/hour
