Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Georgetown, KY
Duration: 12 months
Work Schedule: Optional Hybrid, Must be in office on Tuesday and Thursday
Working Hours: Standard 8 hours (Overtime as required and if requested by the manager)
Steel Toe Boots: Required
Travel: Domestic travel within the client location and International travel to Mexico and Canada (the candidate should have the basic immigration documents ready)
Reason for Travel: Meetings and hands-on field work.
Main Travel Times: Summer Shutdown (late June ~ early July) & Winter Shutdown (late December ~ early January)
Job Description:
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design on mechanical/hydraulic power stamping presses and related automation upgrades. This includes:
- HMI Design: Create and modify HMI programs using GP-pro software on Proface hardware, and review and verify HMI programs during customer buyoffs.
- PLC Design: Create and modify PLC programs using Studio 5000, RSLinx, IAB, MPE720, PCwin, Memosoft, Simatic Step 7 software on Allen-Bradley, Yaskawa, Toyopuc, Siemens hardware, and review and verify PLC design during customer buyoffs.
- Safety PLC Design: Create and modify Safety PLC programs using Studio 5000, RSLinx, IAB, Simatic Step 7 software on Allen-Bradley and Siemens hardware, and review and verify Safety PLC design during customer buyoffs.
- Hardwire Layouts: Create and modify Hardware Layouts using IAB and AutoCAD Electrical software, and review and verify Hardwire Layout during customer buyoffs.
- Panel Layouts: Create and modify Panel Layouts using AutoCAD Electrical software, and review and verify Panel Layouts during customer buyoffs.
- Risk Assessments: Perform Risk Assessments on projects regarding bid selection, hardware procurement, and installation timing.
- Field Device Layouts: Create and modify Field Device Layouts using IAB and AutoCAD Electrical software, and review and verify Field Device Layouts during customer buyoffs.
- Installation Supervision: Supervise Engineers, Electricians, and Millwrights during installation of various Press upgrades, provide direction on installation tasks, and problem-solve any construction-related items during installation.
- Full Line Commissioning: Provide Full Line Commissioning support before, during, and after installation of various press upgrade projects which includes PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical support.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering/technologies or technician degree or Equivalent Work Experience.
- AutoCAD Electrical Experience.
- PLC programming experience (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, and Siemens preferred) - Must Have.
- Electrical hardware design experience.
- Experience with equipment installation and commissioning.
- Ability to multitask.
- Works well within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
