Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and calculations for ESP components including casings, hoppers, discharge electrodes, collector plates, duct work, access and support structures. This will include both new equipment and retrofitting existing equipment.
  • Utilize structural engineering software (e.g., , RISA) to model and analyze ESP structures under various loading conditions, including dead loads, live loads, seismic loads, wind loads, and thermal loads.
  • Develop and review structural design drawings for ESP components, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and industry standards (AISC, ASCE, etc.).
  • Develop design sketches for designers.
  • Checking and marking-up/correcting structural and mechanical drawings
  • Small-scale drafting assignments
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to ensure proper integration of the ESP structure with other equipment.
  • Participate in project meetings, discuss design concepts, and provide technical expertise on structural aspects of the ESP and auxiliary equipment.
  • Collaborate with our construction group on constructability reviews.
  • Develop rigging plans for material crane lifts.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications related to the structural design of the ESP and auxiliary equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ESP technology and structural engineering practices.
  • Gather information and data for jobs and proposals including design, calculations, estimates, travel to site as required.
  • Occasionally travel to job site to perform field inspections/trouble shooting services and write a report of findings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Master’s degree in structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution strongly preferred 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering design, preferably with experience in industrial or power plant projects.
  • Proven experience with structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, RISA is preferred).
  • Excellent understanding of structural mechanics and building codes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software such as RISA 3D, RISA Connection, RISA Section, RISA Foundation.
  • Excellent AutoCAD skills.
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling software such as Inventor and Revit.
