An equity hedge fund investment manager based in the Miami area is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join the rapidly growing firm. The position provides a unique opportunity to work directly with the Portfolio Manager as part of a small investment team with a long history of success and a culture of mentorship. Candidates should possess superior mathematical skills and have a strong history of academic excellence as evidenced by an undergraduate degree from an elite institution, a high GPA (3.8 or better) and exemplary standardized test scores. Candidates should ideally have an undergraduate degree in finance or economics with at least two years of work experience at a top tier investment bank, management consulting firm or investment firm.
Position Responsibilities:
- Analysis of public equities across all sectors and market capitalizations
- Conduct primary research through company filings, transcripts, management meetings and other sources
- Evaluate prospective investments presented by the fund’s Portfolio Manager and over time generate original investment ideas
- Construct and maintain detailed financial models of prospective investments and existing portfolio companies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or finance from a top tier institution with a track record of academic excellence
- Strong standardized test scores
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in investment banking, management consulting or asset management
- Strong financial modeling acumen
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles
- Excellent analytic skills with acute attention to detail
- Passion for investing in public equities
