Board of Directors . As a
Board Member , you will play a pivotal role in advancing
TEEI's mission to expand access to education, professional development, and mentorship for refugees, displaced individuals, and underserved communities, particularly women and girls . Board Members are responsible for providing
governance, financial oversight, and strategic leadership , ensuring TEEI's long-term sustainability and impact. The role is ideal for individuals with
strong philanthropic networks and corporate relationships , who can
help secure funding through donor engagement and corporate sponsorships
while contributing thought leadership to
TEEI's growth strategy . This is an opportunity to apply
your leadership, network, and influence to an organization making a tangible difference in global education . Description As a
Board Member , you will serve as a
strategic advisor and ambassador , ensuring that TEEI continues to scale its programs and expand its reach. Your expertise and connections will be critical in securing
major donor support, corporate funding, and philanthropic contributions . Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Development: Leverage your network to secure corporate sponsorships, major donor contributions, and philanthropic funding Facilitate introductions to high-net-worth individuals and corporate leaders who align with TEEI's mission Support the organization in meeting its annual fundraising goals ($50,000-$100,000 per board member) Strategic Leadership & Governance: Provide input on TEEI's U.S. expansion, financial sustainability, and strategic growth initiatives Ensure adherence to nonprofit governance standards, financial oversight, and legal compliance Participate in at least one board committee (e.g., Fundraising, Governance, Finance) Partnership Development & Advocacy: Cultivate relationships with corporate partners, philanthropists, and educational institutions to expand TEEI's reach Represent TEEI at industry events, networking opportunities, and public engagements Serve as an advocate for education, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership Board & Committee Participation: Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and actively participate in organizational initiatives Provide mentorship and strategic counsel to TEEI's leadership team Requirements TEEI seeks
senior executives, business leaders, philanthropists, and nonprofit governance experts
with experience in
fundraising, corporate partnerships, finance, law, technology, or social impact . Ideal Candidates Have: A strong commitment to education, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership. Experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or major donor relations. A well-established professional network in corporate philanthropy, foundations, or high-net-worth donor circles. A background in finance, law, technology, AI, education, or social impact (preferred but not required). Prior experience serving on a nonprofit board (preferred but not required). The ability to dedicate 5-10 hours per quarter to board meetings, committee work, and fundraising efforts. Fundraising Commitment:
Each board member is expected to
contribute or raise between $50,000 and $100,000 annually
