Our leading manufacturing client is seeking a Permanent Director of Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and overseeing all aspects of our EH&S programs focused on ESG and Sustainability across all sites. This role is integral to our commitment to promoting a culture of safety and sustainability, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and driving our ESG initiatives. The Permanent Director of EH&S will play a key role in maintaining our ISO 14001 certification and ensuring our manufacturing processes are environmentally sustainable. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EH&S programs that align with company objectives and meet regulatory requirements. Lead the company’s ESG initiatives, driving sustainability and social responsibility across all operations. Maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ensuring continual improvement and compliance. Oversee environmental sustainability efforts within the manufacturing process, making strategic recommendations for improvements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement in EH&S performance. Lead root-cause analysis investigations for any incidents or near-misses, developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with various departments to integrate EH&S considerations into business decision-making processes. Provide leadership, guidance, and training to staff at all levels on EH&S matters, fostering a safety-first culture. Stay abreast of new legislation and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant and informed of industry standards and best practices. Prepare and present regular reports on EH&S performance to senior management and stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in EHS, ideally in manufacturing environments. At least 4-5 years of Leadership Experience overseeing EHS teams. Proven experience with ISO 14001, ESG initiatives, and environmental sustainability. Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to implement EH&S programs and initiatives effectively. Excellent root-cause analysis skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage others. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to a range of audiences. Proficient in using modern technology and software for data analysis and reporting. Strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety, sustainability, and compliance within the organization.
