Riverstone Senior Life Services is seeking a passionate and experienced person to serve as our Executive Director, overseeing the delivery of comprehensive social services to older adults in the Washington Heights Community of New York City. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the needs of the aging population, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to advocating for quality care and community engagement. Position Summary

As the Executive Director, you will oversee all aspects of Riverstone Senior Life Services operations, including program development, staff management, financial oversight, fundraising, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities

Organizational Management and Leadership:

Provide strategic leadership to the organization consistent with the organization’s mission and values. Oversee the financial status of the organization, including annual budget development submitted for board approval, monitoring the budget, and ensuring sound financial controls. Provide organizational leadership around local, citywide, statewide, and national policies that impact Riverstone Senior Life Services. Hire, manage, evaluate, and retain an effective staff, volunteers, and consultants, ensuring accountability and adherence to agency and funding policies and protocols. Seek, negotiate, and ensure compliance with all contracts and agreements held by RSLS.

Resource Development:

Formulate and execute comprehensive marketing, branding, and development strategies that will ensure consistency throughout the organization and enhance revenue from donors, foundations, government agencies, and corporations. In partnership with the board of directors, develop and implement the annual fundraising strategy for RSLS, ensuring a diversified funding base. Cultivate and maintain relationships with all donors and potential donors. Serve as the official representative and spokesperson for RSLS.

Program Development and Management:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, mission-driven programs that address community needs while managing for current and future growth. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with others serving the Washington Heights community.

Communications and Community Relations:

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local community, citywide, and national stakeholders including community leaders, legislators, government officials, and civic and philanthropic organizations.

Relationship with Board of Directors:

Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensure open communication about the measurement of financial and programmatic performance against stated milestones and goals. Collaborate with the board to refine and implement the strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with the core mission of RSLS. Help build a diverse and inclusive Board representative of the community.

Qualifications

Experience in working with a community that is socially, economically, and racially diverse, and a commitment to community-centered programming. Knowledge of Social Service programming in a community setting. A master’s degree in social services (MSW) or public health (MPH) discipline and a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience; previous administrative experience is essential. Solid, hands-on budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting. Financially savvy and politically astute with the ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems. Keen analytic, organizational and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision-making. Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector. Transparent and high integrity leadership. Strong written and oral communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. To Apply
