Under the direct supervision of the Club General Manager, supervises the operation of the swimming pool, the work of the life guards, front desk, parking lot security, and locker room attendants.
SCOPE:
Generally responsible for assuring each Member and Guest is made to feel welcomed, comfortable, and is served properly, politely, and efficiently according to Hempstead Golf & Country Club Standards of Operation. Also, responsible for providing Members/Guests with information about other Club Services and performing any additional related duties as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
CPR Certification and Red Cross First Aid Training Required. Ability to work weekends and be on call when off shift. RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in supervising approximately 20-25 seasonal pool workers. Assists in scheduling pool workers, maintaining time sheets, hourly records, and evaluations of all pool workers. Ensures all lifeguard stands are manned during operating hours at all times. Assists in collecting, counting, recording pool receipts, locker money, and lesson money. Assists in beginning, mid, and end shift inspections and direction of staff. Ensures closing procedures are carried out. Performs all supervisory functions when in direct charge of the pool. Continuous contact with members demonstrating good public relations skills. Must be able to perform mathematical skills and communicate verbally and in writing. Demonstrate human relation skills to create an effective working relationship with all employees and the membership. Assists Director of Operations during club events. Any other duties as needed. SWIM TEAM
Attends all on-site/off-site Long Island Swim League meetings, swim meets, swim team practice, and championships. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with other Pool Directors in the area. Works closely with Head Swim Team Coach and Assistant Coaches in all areas of swim team offerings. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Majority of work occurs outdoors (outdoor pool facility). Light to moderate physical effort required. Communications and leadership skills are very important with membership, departmental staff, and Director of Operations.
