Job Summary

Maysville Community and Technical College is seeking applications for the position of Student Support Specialist II with the Ready-to-Work program. The primary campus will be Rowan Campus (Morehead). The position will also perform work on the Montgomery Campus (Mt. Sterling).

Provides guidance to students in specialized area(s) of academic, professional, and personal support services to overcome academic and non-academic barriers and enhance their skills to increase retention and graduation rates.

Job Duties: • Identify and recruit qualified students for the RTW (Ready-to-Work) program, ensuring they receive a comprehensive orientation. • Offer job development, placement, and ongoing support services tailored to RTW students. • Assist students in navigating college admissions, enrollment processes, career counseling, financial aid, and various college services. • Facilitate and uphold effective communication with community organizations and providers of Kentucky Adult Education. • Support the preparation and oversight of the RTW budget and the compilation of annual reports. • Provide direct assistance to students in applying for and maintaining access to essential resources, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP). • Collaborate with local agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals to address students' fundamental needs, including childcare, counseling, food security, housing, legal assistance, medical care, transportation, and utility support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human services related field (psychology, sociology, social work, etc.) Typical years of relevant experience: 2-4.

Additional Skills Requested:
