Position Purpose The School Counselor works under the supervision of the Head of School and is responsible for providing social-emotional support services to students to help them achieve academic success.
Job Duties: Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website. Provides limited, temporary social-emotional support services to students. Provides referrals to outside community groups and services when needed. Provides crisis intervention for students and families as emergencies arise. Provides individual and group check-ins and supports for students with emotional regulation, peer relationships, time management, organizational skills, communication, conflict resolution, and decision making skills. Collaborates with students, parents, instructors, and administrators in creating and implementing Safety Plans, MTSS Behavior and social Emotional Plans, and threat assessments. Participates as a member of the schools health professional team and attends MTSS and IEP meetings as required. Maintains strict confidentiality when providing services to students. Maintains complete and accurate student records in IC. Attends meetings and professional development as requested by Director of Student Services. Other duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:
Masters degree from an accredited college or university in discipline applicable to school counseling required. Colorado Department of Education Certification as a School Counselor required. 1-3 years as a school counselor preferred
