We are seeking a skilled Okta Engineer to join our IAM team. As an Okta Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our identity and access management solutions using Okta. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Okta services and provide expertise in authentication and authorization mechanisms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Okta administration, Terraform, GitOps pipelines, and experience in operating an Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform. Okta Engineer will provide application integration engineering support, including but not limited to, configuring identities platforms, developing technical code, and onboarding. Okta Engineer will also provide operational support for day-to-day operations of the platform and its integration with both third party applications and internal applications. Candidate must possess an advanced understanding of and have experience with Active Directory, integrating cloud-based and on-prem applications using SAML/OIDC, user/account provisioning, access control policies/procedures, creating/managing customer attributes, and integrating external LDAPs into Okta. Okta IAM Engineer will also be asked to provide improvement recommendations and configure/customize Okta to meet specific business requirements. Responsibilities:
Design and implement Okta Universal Directory, Single-Sign On, Multifactor Authentication, Workflows, and User Lifecycle Management solutions using Terraform for identity and access management. Integrate applications with LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, OpenID Connect, RADIUS, and Oauth protocols. Define and enforce user access policies for various access use cases - 2FA, MFA, RBAC, ABAC, etc. Onboard and off-board users to Okta to provide access to certain applications. Collaborate with other members of the security and architecture teams to design new features or improve existing ones. Troubleshoot and resolve Okta-related issues, ensuring optimal system performance. Provide training and support to end-users on Okta-related processes. Support the creation and maintenance of a roadmap for Okta implementation/future integrations/new capabilities. Oversee Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics, monitor system performance, identify trends, and report standings and findings to management and other stakeholders. Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements in identity management, including auditing and access controls. Here’s what you need:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. 3-5 years of proven experience in implementing, integrating, and supporting an industry recognized IDP solution. Strong understanding of SSO/federated authentication methods (SAML, OIDC, LDAP) and their components. Experience standing up new Okta organizations, creating custom Okta API integrations, and enabling Okta SSO. Familiarity with change management processes and ticketing applications such as Atlassian’s Jira. Clearance Level - must be able to obtain Public Trust. Bonus Points:
