The Hospitals are part of

which is the nation's largest public health system. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with
Albert Einstein Medical College
to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. If desired all Medicine Faculty Members have Einstein Medical School appointments. Jacobi/NCB has a vibrant Rheumatology Practice boasting active Lupus Clinics, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, Arthritis Clinics, and a Biologic Infusion Center. The Jacobi Medical Center Inpatient Rheumatology Service is very active, averaging approximately 7 consults per day, while the North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) averages 3-5 consults per day. The Rheumatology Service at both Jacobi and North Central Bronx is a division of the Department of Medicine, which has approximately 110 full-time physicians and 162 medical residents. The Jacobi/NCB Department of Medicine has 15 Divisions with all medical specialties represented and is also affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The mission of

Seeking a full-time Rheumatologist Clinician Educator to join the Department of Medicine at the Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) in the Bronx, NY. The Division of Rheumatology is an academic practice sponsored by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) and supported by the Montefiore Medical Center Rheumatology Fellows. The Practice includes both inpatient and outpatient care, and clinical supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students. At its peak, the practice has 1,700 unique patients between the two hospitals, with 52 receiving routine Biologic Infusion Therapy. The practice has an active Lupus Clinic, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, and Arthritis Clinics. The Jacobi Inpatient service averages 7 consults per day, while NCB averages 3-5 a day. The service is a Division of the Department of Medicine with a vision for 4 full-time Rheumatologists. Jacobi and NCB are teaching sites for the eight fellows at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM)-Montefiore Program. Qualifications include: Board certification in Internal Medicine. Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology. Possess or be eligible for a New York State Medical License. Ability to speak Spanish is highly desired. Ultrasound training preferred, but not necessary. Proficient use of Electronic Medical Record System (EMR), such as Epic. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required. Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize, and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment. Must be able to prioritize a variety of time-sensitive tasks. Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary: $224,220* (board eligible) and $229,600* (board certified) based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation is available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $342,162** (board eligible) and $348,080** (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below: Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520. Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
