Executive Director at Riverside Immigrant Services & Empowerment (formerly Riverside Language Program) Riverside Immigrant Services & Empowerment (Riverside) is an immigrant integration center that supports the economic mobility and social inclusion of newly arrived immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in New York City. Our mission is to help new immigrants successfully integrate into life in the U.S. by providing free, full-time, immersive English language instruction, wrap-around case management and counseling, and incorporating workforce development skills, digital literacy, and civics into daily instruction. These supports and skills ensure that Riverside participants are better positioned to access job training, employment, and higher education and become active community members. Riverside seeks a Director of Individual Giving to develop and manage a portfolio of individual donors who make annual and multi-year gifts to the organization. The Director will cultivate and secure new individual donor gifts in the $10,000 to $100,000 range. We seek a professional with proven experience scaling funding campaigns and a passion for supporting transformational change in the lives of immigrants and refugees. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement Riverside’s fundraising strategy for Individual Giving, including strategies to identify and cultivate high net-worth prospects, both inside and outside of Riverside’s network, with the goal of converting them into major donors. Secure at least $250,000 in individual donor gifts in the first year, with increasing growth in subsequent years. Manage and maintain significant donor relationships, contacts, and solicitations. Design and execute donor events to raise awareness and support for Riverside, such as cultivation cocktails, cultural engagements, and/or small educational convenings. Represent Riverside and its programs in meetings, phone conversations, and events with individual donors and prospective donors. Guide solicitation of individual prospects for the Executive Director and members of the board of directors. This includes briefing and preparing solicitors, briefing prospective donors, scheduling meetings and events, and preparing any presentation materials. Maintain a well-documented record of activities with all associated administrative responsibilities. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPI) for the individual giving program. Create compelling donor communications materials. EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge of New York City’s nonprofit sector required, and knowledge of immigration issues preferred. 7-10 years of experience as a fundraiser specializing in individual giving and major gift donations. Proven track record of securing $10k + gifts. Experienced manager with strong leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute responsibilities in the face of competing priorities. Comfort speaking with high net-worth individuals and preparing development materials to support donor relationships. Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across many disciplines. Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of Kindful or a similar CRM system preferred. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Riverside is committed to practicing salary transparency. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. Riverside offers a compensation package that includes employer-paid health, dental, and group life insurance; 12 weeks of paid parental leave following the birth, adoption, or placement of a child; and six weeks of vacation, all Federal and most New York City public school holidays, plus six days of PTO for sick or personal use.
