This position will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, planning, and reporting for a diverse range of investment structures, including private equity funds, portfolio companies, and related entities. $150K - $165K + Bonus REQUIRED TO APPLY: BS of Accounting or Finance CPA 5 + years of experience within public accounting working with FS clients or industry Strong knowledge of partnership tax JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns for private equity funds and portfolio companies. Ensure compliance with tax regulations for all entities, including partnerships, corporations, and LLCs. Manage tax provisions and ensure timely and accurate filing of required documents. Review quarterly and annual tax filings for private equity fund entities and related portfolio companies. Work closely with senior management and investment teams to provide tax-efficient strategies for structuring transactions and investments. Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other investment structures. Proactively identify tax-saving opportunities and strategies to optimize the firm’s overall tax position. Manage and coordinate responses to IRS audits, state tax inquiries, and other tax-related disputes. Collaborate with external tax advisors, legal counsel, and auditors to resolve any tax-related issues. Ensure proper documentation and reporting to mitigate audit risks. Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of tax strategies into day-to-day operations. Provide ongoing training and guidance to junior team members on tax issues related to private equity and investment management. Stay current with changes in federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations impacting private equity and investment management. Advise the firm on any new tax legislation and ensure the firm’s operations are in compliance with updated tax laws. Participate in tax due diligence for potential acquisitions and other investment opportunities. Assist in preparing tax forecasts and projections for both fund and portfolio company operations.
