Compensation and Benefits: • Weekly Gross: $5,900.00 Per Week • On W2(Taxable): $3,800.00 Per Week ($100/hour) • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,100.00 Per Week • Overtime: $150/hour

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Physicist specializing in Radiation Oncology to join the Cone Health Cancer Center at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing radiation therapy physics services in a state-of-the-art oncology department. This includes ensuring accurate radiation treatment planning and delivery for oncology patients, as well as maintaining safety protocols and assisting with the treatment planning process. Key Responsibilities: • Radiation Therapy Planning and Delivery: o Provide external beam radiation therapy (Teletherapy) for oncology patients. o Conduct Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) planning, ensuring optimal doses and minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. o Utilize Eclipse Treatment Planning System (TPS) for the development and implementation of accurate radiation plans. o Ensure all procedures are conducted in adherence to radiation safety precautions and department protocols.

• Brachytherapy: o Assist with High Dose Rate (HDR) and Low Dose Rate (LDR) Brachytherapy for appropriate patients, particularly with prostate cancer treatments using Variseed LDR.

• Quality Control and Safety: o Monitor radiation safety and ensure compliance with all local and national safety standards. o Work with medical and technical staff to verify that all radiation treatments meet the prescribed specifications and regulatory requirements. o Maintain and calibrate treatment machines such as Varian TrueBeam, Philips BigBore, and GammaMed HDR systems.

• Collaboration and Documentation: o Collaborate with the oncology team to develop patient treatment plans and protocols. o Document patient information and treatment plans in the Aria, Epic, and Varian Eclipse systems. o Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, standards, and regulatory guidelines.

• Patient and Family Interaction: o Communicate with patients and their families regarding treatment options, processes, and safety measures in radiation therapy. o Ensure the patient’s experience is compassionate and informative, providing clarity regarding each step in their care process.

Required Qualifications: • Experience: o Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology in an inpatient setting, specifically with external beam radiation therapy (Teletherapy) and IMRT. o Experience with radiation therapy equipment such as Varian TrueBeam, Philips BigBore, GammaMed HDR, and Variseed LDR. • Certifications: o ABR Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics (American Board of Radiology). o BLS (Basic Life Support) – required. • Skills: o Familiarity with Eclipse Treatment Planning System (TPS) and Brachytherapy (HDR/LDR). o Epic experience required for all travelers. • Licensure: o Must possess valid state licensure as a Radiation Oncology Physicist in the United States. Licensure must be in hand at the time of submission.

Work Schedule: • Shift: Day shift, 5x8-Hour shifts (08:00 AM - 05:00 PM), Monday to Friday. • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week. • Start Date: 04/15/2025. • End Date: 08/04/2025 (16-week assignment).

Hospital and Unit Information: • Unit Name: Cone Health Cancer Center at Wesley Long Hospital, Radiation Oncology. • Average Daily Census: 37 patients. • Patient Diagnoses: Primarily oncology patients with various cancer diagnoses.

Special Equipment: • 2x Varian TrueBeam radiation therapy units. • 1x Philips BigBore CT scanner. • GammaMed HDR Brachytherapy unit. • Variseed LDR Prostate Brachytherapy. • Documentation Systems: Aria, Epic, and Varian Eclipse treatment planning software.

Required Vaccinations: • COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious exemptions accepted). • Flu Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious exemptions accepted).
