SSC is seeking an experienced and driven HR Generalist to manage day-to-day human resources operations and contribute to strategic HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience across multiple disciplines within HR, desire to engage with company staff and communicate with all employees as you grow into the HR Manager role. In this role, you will support payroll, SCA labor laws, recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy development while working closely with leadership to develop and refine HR strategies.

You must pass an I-9 employment verification and background check.

Specific Duties:

Payroll:

  • Understand DOL and State laws and policies
  • Experience with Paylocity.com, our human capital management (HCM) and payroll software solution
  • Add, delete, and edit employee data in Paylocity
  • Review and resolve employee payroll timecard issues
  • Assist in running payroll
  • Answer employee payroll, timecard, pay, PTO, and sick leave balance questions

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, post job openings, and manage the recruitment process.
  • Oversee onboarding to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.
  • Maintain and manage HR records in Paylocity, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
  • Guide managers and employees on workplace policies, performance issues, and conflict resolution.

HR Operations and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment and issue resolution.

Performance Management & HR Development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field highly desired.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an HR Specialist, Generalist or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding employment laws and HR best practices for Benefits, Retirement Plans, and SCA benefits
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire for career growth in HR management.
  • Experience of HRIS systems, specifically Paylocity.com, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
