Extended School Year - Elementary Special Education Teacher
Reports To : ESY Coordinator
Danvers Public Schools is seeking an Extended School Year - Elementary Special Education Teacher for the ESY program. This is a non-benefited, part-time seasonal position for the 2025 summer. This is a Monday-through-Thursday program, running from July 7, 2025, to August 7, 2025
Position Overview :
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team during the Extended School Year Program (ESY) for students with disabilities.
In this role, you will work with students in grades [K-5] who have various disabilities and learning challenges.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering individualized and small group instruction that meets the unique needs of each student while fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide direct, individualized, and small group instruction to meet students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
Use a variety of instructional methods, including visual, auditory, and hands-on techniques, to engage students with diverse learning styles.
Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to encourage positive student behavior and emotional regulation.
Create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student confidence, independence, and self-advocacy.
Collaborate with support staff, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists, to develop and implement specialized services for students.
Complete required documentation, including progress reports, in a timely and accurate manner.
