UIC Arctic Research & Logistics Director of Operations
is responsible for overseeing many of a business's daily activities, directing and coordinating actions across an organization. This position reports directly to the General Manager to support contracting and financial efforts. Responsibilities
Essential Functions Work with the General Manager in business development. Oversee many of a business's daily activities. Direct and coordinate actions across the organization. Locate areas for improvement within various departments. Supervise as needed. Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Knowledge of grant and research funding. Ability to develop research and funding plans. Ability to develop evaluation tools. Qualifications
Required Experience: Masters in Science required. 10+ years of experience with science logistics. Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically. Occasional field work and deployment to remote locations may be required.
