As a Sr. Occupancy Planner / Design Manager at JLL, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping innovative workplace and retail environments, leveraging your expertise in space planning and design to deliver optimal solutions for diverse client projects.
What this job involves?
Being in the forefront
As a Design Manager, you’ll be a key contributor to the portfolio strategy and workplace and/or retail design activities for various/multiple project sites. You will create content and lead presentations in client meetings, you will be assisting with identifying space requirements to meet business’ needs. Creating feasibility studies, stack plans, scenario modelling, and test fits, you ensure that planning is aligned with the client’s design guidelines, and that all scenarios maximize use of space; recommend educate and enforce space policies/standards, procedures, and protocols. Once the project is approved, you will work alongside the Project Manager providing direction to architect/designer for finalized floorplans and design elements (i.e., FF&E) prior to submitting for permit. You will also be responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and approving other elements of design, including signage, artwork, and graph locations, biophilia, etc.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Strong knowledge of workplace and retail design, industry trends, and best practices
Understanding of spatial relationships, workplace guidelines, and building codes
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, or related field
7-10 years of experience in a corporate environment
General understanding of building codes and accessibility requirements
Key Relationships To be successful in this role, you will need to ensure accurate reporting of information and foster critical relationships between various individuals and organizations. Communication channels will exist with: Corporate Real Estate Strategy & Design to understand key projects and priorities.
Collaborate with Workplace Experience, Project Management, Facility Management, and Interior Architect of Record
Line of business (all levels) to understand workplace requirements and help inform of workplace guidelines and standards.
Project Management to review test-fits, scope details, occupancy data and business requirements, as well as collaborate on the creation of project budget and schedule.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to consolidate data and floor plans into Power Point for presentations to client and lines of business is highly valued. Organized, Open and Flexible Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken – and we’ll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines.
