Connections Coordinator: Trinity Presbyterian Church
Job Description:
The Connections Coordinator is responsible for cultivating a welcoming church environment, guiding individuals into deeper engagement with the community at Trinity, and effectively communicating the church’s pathways of connection. This role combines oversight of assimilation with strategic communication efforts to ensure a clear path for folks to take next steps at the church. Position Qualifications:
Responsibilities
Hospitality and First Impressions - Oversee teams responsible for greeting, ushering, and welcoming visitors to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. - Implement our follow-up systems for first-time visitors, encouraging further connection and involvement. - Oversee and improve, with the help of church leadership, the engagement and effectiveness of connecting members and visitors at the Connect Center. Connection and Engagement - Manage a clear pathway for visitors to transition into active members, including community groups, cohorts, and serving teams. - Plan and oversee the Next Steps brunch and membership onboarding processes. Strategic Communication Planning - Manage internal church calendar and take lead on overseeing communication as it relates to announcements and internal ministry alignment. - Create and send weekly church email newsletter detailing upcoming events and various channels of connection. - Manage people, registrations, and events in Planning Center as it relates to events and connecting opportunities. Qualifications - Experience (1+ years) with connections and/or communications or marketing preferred. - Strong writing and editing skills necessary for a weekly church-wide newsletter. - Willingness to learn basic design skills to create/edit graphics for print and digital communication to be cohesive with Trinity’s brand and vision. - Ability to manage priorities and juggle several projects at one time, while also being highly responsive to incoming communications. The ability to be flexible and adaptive is also important. - Ability to work under minimal supervision with internal departments to complete work. - Excellent collaboration and interpersonal communication skills. - Be consistently available on Sunday mornings (8:30am-12:30pm). Characteristics - Maintain a vital and growing walk with the Lord. - Passionate about serving Jesus and his church with a positive attitude and collaborative spirit. - Teachable with the ability to receive critical feedback and make adjustments accordingly. - Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of Trinity San Diego.
