Job Summary:
This position leads Blackfoot’s systems and information technology strategy, optimizes workflow automation, and integrates AI-driven solutions where appropriate. This role is critical to ensuring scalable, efficient, and seamless operations as we grow. The IT Director bridges the gap between technology and operations, working closely with leadership and staff across all departments to create an innovative, streamlined, and highly efficient infrastructure and systems. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee multi-disciplinary team of Information Technology and Information/Business Systems professionals. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT systems. Develop and maintain a robust cybersecurity program, including threat assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, and training programs to ensure organization-wide security awareness. Integrate and enhance Blackfoot’s current technology stack for scalability. Ensure Blackfoot’s digital tools are enabling and empowering employees to work efficiently and effectively. Oversee smooth integration of new software with existing systems. Partner with leadership and other departments to understand technological needs, identify opportunities for process improvement, and drive technology-enabled solutions. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. Perform regular audits and risk assessments, implementing best practices to protect sensitive data. Define and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Oversee periodic testing of backup systems and processes to ensure minimal downtime in the event of a crisis. Lead and manage complex IT projects from ideation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Optimize resource allocation to balance day-to-day support needs with strategic initiatives. Make data-driven recommendations regarding new tools, upgrades, and services. Manage and continuously revise the IT cost structure to drive efficiency through vendor consolidation, elimination of unnecessary software/systems, and outsourcing when appropriate. Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities: Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated success in managing large-scale transformation programs. Expertise in implementing large-scale systems in matrix organizations with diverse business requirements. Experience with program governance frameworks. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and dependencies. Strong background in risk management and mitigation strategies for complex implementations. Experience with integrating disparate systems with other business applications, vendor products, business partners, etc. Deep knowledge of integration technologies, such as APIs, EDI, or middleware. Experience with training strategy development and execution for enterprise-wide implementations. Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related fields; 5+ years of progressive management roles in IT management, network management, or systems administration; broad experience in IT infrastructure management, enterprise software, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and data management; extensive experience in driving technology initiatives, IT project management, and aligning IT with overall business objectives preferred.
