Director of Practice Operations
is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative, financial, and operational functions of our multi-provider private healthcare practice. Reporting directly to the
VP of Operations , this role ensures efficient practice management, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care while driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance. What You’ll Do: Operational Leadership & Efficiency Oversee the daily operations of multiple practice and procedure locations; along with the patient scheduling/booking teams. Maintaining seamless workflow and exceptional patient care. Implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery. Direct scheduling of staff to achieve operational efficiencies and high levels of patient satisfaction. Manage facility operations, vendor contracts, and supply chain logistics to ensure cost-effective resource allocation. Support SOP development and ensure effective training and ongoing execution against defined SOPs. Implement process improvements to enhance patient care efficiency and reduce wait times. Leverage technology and data analytics to drive process improvements and better decision-making. Assist in developing and managing the annual budget, tracking financial and operational performance against targets. Work closely with the revenue cycle team to optimize billing, coding, and collections, minimizing denials and maximizing reimbursements. Monitor key financial metrics such as revenue, expenses, patient volume, and profitability to ensure objectives are achieved. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality patient services. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including Quad A, HIPAA and OSHA. Implement risk management strategies, conduct internal audits, and coordinate with external regulatory agencies as needed. Develop and enforce policies to protect patient privacy, workplace safety, and staff adherence to compliance standards. Lead, mentor, and develop Practice Managers and other key personnel to drive engagement and performance. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development programs for departments under incumbents' direction. Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for continuous staff improvement and retention. Address employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workforce planning to support a positive work culture. Strategic Growth & Patient Experience Enhance the patient experience by implementing customer service best practices and monitoring patient satisfaction metrics. Work with marketing teams to improve patient outreach, referral networks, and Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree
in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field ( Master’s preferred ). 5+ years of leadership experience
in healthcare operations, preferably in a private practice or ambulatory setting. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, revenue cycle management, and operational best practices. Proven ability to manage financial performance, budgets, and cost control measures. Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills. Proficiency in
EHR/EMR systems , practice management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Preferred Certifications: Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE)
– MGMA Lean Six Sigma
