Director Global Business Development (m/f/d)

Functional Goal:
Responsible for external partnership with 3rd party players to build the product pipeline and drive sales and profitable growth in accordance to Fresenius Kabi Business Unit Pharma & Nutrition strategy. Particular focus on pharmaceutical companies to source AGs (authorized generics) and mature products for acquisition. Main Tasks:
Scouts opportunities with pharmaceuticals and biotech companies to source AGs and products for acquisition, with a specific focus on the US market
Manages all In-licensing deals from initiation until execution of agreement with identified 3rd party suppliers for IL-opportunities considering the best deal type, most favourable timelines, quality and commercial terms
Scout and identify new business development opportunities to expand the existing Portfolio via In-Licensing (IL)
Drive and lead the Commercial evaluation of external IL-opportunities
Lead negotiations of Licensing Agreements to close the deal
Prepare briefings, business cases, etc. and seek management approval
Manage existing alliances and establish long-term professional relationships with potential partners
Support the partner intelligence system developed by BD team
Assess M&A opportunities, products acquisition, etc.
Represent Fresenius Kabi at industry conventions and conferences
Other Tasks:
Secondary Tasks: Monitor the market, competitors, and trends in Fresenius Kabi business space
Generate and collect new project ideas (patent expiry, gap analysis, external offers, life cycle management etc.) and valuate them as an input in the Fresenius Kabi´s decision process
Take ownership of IL-projects and liaise with different functions to ensure the IL-project timelines on track
Special Tasks / Additional tasks: Ad hoc request such as portfolio assessment or M&A targets

Contact to all members of the Business Unit and within the Fresenius Network & Regions Develop internal BD network to share opportunities to extend IL territory scope
External:
Maintain and develop existing relationship with suppliers, partners Contact existing and potential suppliers, partners
Qualification Profile:
Experience with pharmaceutical and/or biotech companies in business development or corporate development is a must
Scientific background (M.Sc. or equivalent)
Financial background (MBA or equivalent)
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including minimum 2 years of contracts negotiation
Requirements / Knowledge to fulfill the position:
Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and US market
Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong team player (open, supportive to peers)
Solution oriented, balancing strategic thinking and strong execution sense
Organised while being reactive and having sense of urgency / priorities
Multicultural oriented
Proficient usage of MS Office package
Relevant network in the pharma industry
Willing to travel at least 30%
Position is based in Switzerland
Languages
Fluent in English; French and/or German an asset but not a requirement
