Litigation Trial Attorney – Civil Defense
*This position can be remote in the New York City area after an initial period in Mineola, New York.
Our client, a top-tier civil defense law firm , is seeking an experienced Litigation Trial Attorney to join their highly skilled legal team . This is a prime opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a courtroom setting and is eager to handle complex litigation matters from case inception through trial .
What You’ll Do:
- Lead defense litigation cases involving personal injury, premises liability, product liability, professional malpractice, and other civil defense matters.
- Take cases from inception through trial , including pre-trial motions, discovery, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
- Develop and implement winning defense strategies , conducting legal research and drafting persuasive motions, pleadings, and trial briefs.
- Conduct and defend depositions of key witnesses, expert witnesses, and opposing parties to strengthen case positioning.
- Handle motion practice, including summary judgment motions, evidentiary hearings, and trial preparation .
- Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings , ensuring effective advocacy in front of judges and juries.
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and clients to provide sound legal counsel, risk assessment, and litigation strategy guidance .
What You Bring:
✔ Juris Doctor (JD) & New York Bar Admission
✔ 5+ Years of Civil Litigation Experience (Defense Preferred)
✔ Demonstrated trial and courtroom experience, including motion practice and deposition management
✔ Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail
✔ Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
✔ Excellent communication, negotiation, and client advocacy skills
