The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) , the leading organization of professionals committed to preventing and curing liver disease, is seeking a Director of Member Experience to develop and implement strategies to enhance member engagement, recruitment, and retention. This position is remote with occasional travel required. Candidates residing in DC, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, and Florida will be considered.

As the Director of Member Experience, you will develop a membership strategy with clear, measurable goals that includes overseeing leadership development opportunities for members through governance and promoting inclusion in the member experience. You will conduct market research to inform, develop, and implement membership campaigns that will promote overall member value, advance key member communities, adhere to governance structures, and cultivate new membership offerings. You will also develop plans to support membership retention and recruitment goals and drive revenue growth, as well as support programming for the Membership & Mentorship Committee and the Inclusion & Diversity Committee. This position reports to the Chief of Staff.
Qualified candidates offer:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 6 years of experience in a similar role with relevant subject matter expertise
- Extensive knowledge of association membership processes, structures, and database systems
- Experience with DEI programs and collaborating with volunteers in association environments
- Knowledge of key programmatic, operational, and financial issues and priorities
- Significant experience in developing and executing membership strategies and leveraging data analytics to achieve results
- Health care association membership experience preferred
