Infusion RN - Oncology Highlights
The pay for this position is $37-$44 per hour, depending on experience. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Hybrid Position: Requires occasional travel to Dallas region sites as needed. Employment Type: Full-time, contract to hire
Responsibilities
Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care following established standards. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials. Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision. Administer medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique. Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained before administering therapies. Modify doses based on patient assessments, lab results, protocols, and physician consultation. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatment. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Requirements
Must have at least 1 year of infusion experience and some oncology experience. Chemo experience is highly preferred. Good IV skills and experience accessing port devices. Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred). RN state license and current registration with the Texas State Board of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Level RN 2: 3-5 years of nursing experience (at least 2 years in oncology) and at least 1 year in infusion administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy. Level RN Sr: 5+ years of infusion experience. Compassionate, independent worker, educator mindset.
